BroadVision Enhances Sun Platform Experience for Customers.

More than 700 Customers will Reap the Benefits of BroadVision's

Licensing the Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)),

Participation in SunVIP Program and Interoperability of iPlanet(TM) Application Server with its BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise Solution

In an announcement made simultaneously at BVision2001, the fifth annual BroadVision International User's Conference in Las Vegas, and the JavaOne(SM) Developer Conference in San Francisco, BroadVision(TM) has worked with Sun Microsystems, Inc. to help their installed base of more than 700 customers to reap the benefits of an even more finely-tuned BroadVision solution for the Sun(TM) platform. Specifically, BroadVision has licensed Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)), joined the Sun Vendor Integrations Program (SunVIP(SM)), and achieved SunTone(SM) certification of BroadVision One-To-One(TM) Enterprise. BroadVision also plans to have BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0 interoperate with the iPlanet(TM) Application Server.

Since formalizing their relationship, the two companies have acquired more than 300 new joint customer engagements in retail, technology, finance and other markets. More than 700 BroadVision customers now run on the Solaris(TM) Operating Environment.

BroadVision is now an authorized licensee of the J2EE platform. BroadVision and Sun's common commitment to open standards and platforms, like J2EE technology, will protect the IT investments of BroadVision's customers.

BroadVision's e-business application platform, BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0, will interoperate with the J2EE Compatible iPlanet Application Server from iPlanet E-Commerce Solutions, a Sun-Netscape Alliance. The iPlanet Application Server is an industry leading application server, providing the performance, scalability and availability required to power many of the world's largest and most demanding e-business operations. The product is critical to the realization of the Sun Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) vision of a complete open architecture for the creation, assembly and deployment of Web services. In addition, BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0 runs on the Solaris(TM) 8.0 Operating Environment.

BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 5.5 has also recently achieved SunTone(SM) Certification. Led by Sun, SunTone Certification is one of the industry's first collaborative efforts to define and audit Service Provider infrastructure, operational practices, hardware, applications and overall service delivery to help ensure industry-leading levels for performance, security and availability. The program, with its SunTone certified "seal of approval," gives customers of Web-enabled services a means for identifying suppliers that meet defined high standards.

Based on these successes, BroadVision joined the Sun Vendor Integration Program. The SunVIP program, Sun's pioneering, cooperative support program, is designed to offer a one-call solution to interoperability problems for BroadVision and Sun customers.

Under the SunVIP program, customers can call either Sun or BroadVision when they encounter interoperability problems and can rely on technical cooperation between engineers from both companies. Customers holding SunSpectrum Gold(SM) and SunSpectrum Platinum(SM) service contracts from Sun and mission-critical support contracts from BroadVision are eligible.
