BroadLogic Demonstrates Reconstruction of a Complete Analog and Digital Channel Lineup.

First-Ever Demonstration of TeraPIX-Enabled Residential Gateway at CableLabs[R] Summer Conference

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- BroadLogic Network Technologies, a leading provider of bandwidth reclamation solutions for broadband networks, will conduct a first-ever demonstration of a TeraPIX-enabled residential gateway at the CableLabs[R] Summer Conference. Using the gateway, BroadLogic will reconstruct an analog channel lineup from an all-digital channel line-up, showing cable operators a key step in the cost-effective transition to an all-digital network. The conference will be held August 5-8, 2007 in Keystone, Colorado.

According to the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), 28 percent of homes have high-definition TVs (HDTVs), representing 35 million HDTVs in U.S. homes. In contrast, there are over 300 million analog TVs in the US, with an average of almost three TVs per household. The CEA predicts that another 16 million HDTVs will ship to the marketplace by the end of 2007.

BroadLogic's TeraPIX enables cable multi-service operators (MSOs) to transition from a mixed analog and digital network to an all-digital network to stay ahead of subscriber demand for next-generation HD video, voice, and ultra-high-speed data services. At the same time, the TeraPIX enables MSOs to continue to deliver service to analog TVs, preserving a competitive advantage that has been crucial to the continued success of the cable industry. Offering the best of both worlds, a TeraPIX-enabled residential gateway provides MSOs an important tool in their transition to an all-digital network.

Recently, the company completed a key round of financing, totaling $17 million, led by Comcast Interactive Capital, including Advance/Newhouse, Cisco, and Intel, among other strategic and financial investors.

The demonstration of the TeraPIX-enabled residential gateway will simulate bandwidth reclamation capabilities and digital network performance within the cable MSO network and the subscriber home - highlighting the ability to not only generate an analog line-up, but also to deliver existing all-digital content into the home. The demonstrations will take place in the Torrey's Peak III ballroom during the CableLabs Summer Conference, at the Keystone Resort and Conference Center.
