BroadLight Opens China Office to Address Growing Demand for Its Complete End-to-End (E2E) GPON Solutions.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- After announcing its second generation GPON solution and more than 25 new GPON design wins, BroadLight today announced that it has established an office in Shanghai China and hired Mr. Kevin Zhang as Country Manager. The opening of a China office is BroadLight's latest move to expand its world wide infrastructure in response to its growing base in China and to support and establish new partnerships.

The Company also opened a Japan office in January 2006 and just recently announced that it had signed 25 new licensees for its GPON silicon and software solution.

Kevin Zhang joins BroadLight from AMCC, where he worked as District Sales Manager, responsible for AMCC's business in Central China. Before joining AMCC, Kevin held various management positions at Asian Information Technology, a distribution company, where he was responsible for the sales and marketing of Conexant products in China. Prior to that, Kevin also held various R&D positions with leaders in the telecommunications market such as Alcatel Shanghai Bell and Sino Telecom.

Kevin has a M.Sc.degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, majoring in Communication and Electronics Systems.
