A complimentary addition to BroadJump's Virtual Truck family of products, Virtual Truck Qualifier lets service providers reach a broader set of potential subscribers without the costly expense of phone support or sending field technicians to consumers' houses to pre-qualify their computer. Virtual Truck Qualifier encourages the potential subscriber to test their computer against the minimum broadband requirements set by the service provider prior to a service provider having to initiate a truck roll.

"The ability to proactively target and engage potential broadband subscribers is going to be critical for us as we continue to grow our current subscriber base," said Dave Temlak, Road Runner's vice president, customer care. "Today we are deploying Road Runner road runner: see cuckoo.

Connect will increase the efficiency of the Road Runner installation technician as well as provide an option for customer self installation of our broadband service. With the addition of this pre-qualification tool, we are now able to take a pro-active step in ensuring the successful installation of a potential Road Runner customer."

Service providers can market their broadband service via Virtual Truck Qualifier either by mass distribution on CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

"The competition for market share in the broadband industry is fierce. Service providers, more and more, are turning to outside vendors who can help them implement technologies quickly and efficiently," said Keith Kennebeck, Broadband Research Analyst, Strategis Group. "Solutions that offer a low cost alternative for service providers trying to reach new areas of subscribers and increase their market share are going to be in high demand."

BroadJump Virtual Truck Installer V.1.5 Enhancements

BroadJump's Virtual Truck Installer V.1.5 further enhances the value of BroadJump's Virtual Truck family of products to service providers trying to deploy DSL DSL

, cable and wireless services. With enhanced functionality, Virtual Truck Installer V.1.5 dramatically cuts the time to initiate a broadband connection while ensuring consistent quality across all installations.

Virtual Truck Installer V.1.5 is now able to install broadband service in more complex subscriber environments such as those supporting home networking. BroadJump's Virtual Truck Installer V.1.5 can automatically identify an assigned DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) Software that automatically assigns temporary IP addresses to client stations logging into an IP network. It eliminates having to manually assign permanent "static" IP addresses. DHCP software runs in servers and routers.  or static IP address, detect and resolve DNS (Domain Name System) A system for converting host names and domain names into IP addresses on the Internet or on local networks that use the TCP/IP protocol. For example, when a Web site address is given to the DNS either by typing a URL in a browser or behind the  naming problems, and decrease implementation times on PCs with multiple network interface cards.

Now integrated with Point-to-Point over Ethernet (PPPoE) Protocol, Virtual Truck Installer V.1.5 can automatically install the PPPoE client software on a subscriber's computer. Virtual Truck Installer then logs the subscriber on to the specific broadband service designated by the provider and authenticates the subscriber to that specified service.

"Through our continued work with both DSL and cable service providers we have learned there is an inherent need for the functionality BroadJump's Virtual Truck family of products provides," said Kip kip 1
