Broad understanding reached to conduct business of the upper house with consensus.

ISLAMABAD, September 06, 2009 (Balochistan Times): The senate House business Advisory Committee comprising heads of parliamentary parties represented in the senate met again Tuesday morning at the parliament House under the chairmanship of the chairman senate. Mr. Farooq H. Naek to discuss matters relating to todays session of the upper House. According to details the meeting was attended by leader of the house, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi, Abdul Rahim Mandokhel, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Maulana Muhammad Sherani, Haji Muhammad Adeel, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Safdar Ali Abbasi, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Abbas Khan, Muhammad Kazim Khan, besides secretary Senate, Raja Muhammad Amin. Speaking on the occasion, the chairman senate, under lined the need to the broad standing reached at this important meeting in accordance with the established parliamentary norms and procedures. The chairman also announced after consultation with the respective party heads in the senates that during remaining days of the session things would taken up in the following orders: 1) Price hike and sugar crisis would be discussed soon 2) Which would be followed up by the law and order and internal security 3) And that in turn would be followed by discussion on Kerry Lugar bill, 4) Power crisis and power policy and lastly 5) The IDPs issue. He also pointed out that one speaker of every party having three or more members would be allowed to speak. The parliamentary leader would speak for 15 minutes whereas an ordinary member would be allowed 10 minutes to speak. We can even hold two sessions a day if still there are certain members left, he added. A number of senators brought to the notice of the honourable chairman that in the light of yesterdays untoward incident in Islamabad, every effort should be made to further beef security of parliamentary building. The chairman assured that he will take up the matter with the speaker of the National Assembly and all out efforts would be made to address the apprehensions of honourable parliamentarians.
