POSTER-BOY Stuart Broad (right) has long established himself as an essential ingredient of England's Ashes war machine.

And one of the most under-rated feats by an Englishman on Aussie soil remains the three hundreds reeled off by Broad's father, Chris, in 1986-87 before his reappearance in the headlines as the ICC match referee whose minibus was ambushed in Lahore by terrorists who wrecked the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

But it is a lesser-known aspect of the Broad clan's links to the England camp that Stuart's sister, Gemma, also works on the backroom staff as a computer analyst.
