Brixham outing pays winning dividend for Ivor.GWENT SAC travelled to Brixham where Ivor Smith, from Rogerstone, won the competition with a 38 fish mixture adding up to 4.70kg. John Owen's second best 4.20kg was made up of just nine fish, while Neil Owen finished in third place with just 2gm less. Introduced by IBM in 1987, SAA includes the Common User Access (CUA), the Common Programming Interface for Communications (CPI-C) and Common Communications low-water roving competition. Club chairman Derek Gam-libeached two triggers and added a conger for a winning 4lb 5oz, while Mike Rowley, fishing with him at Marcross, was second with two for 2lb 6oz. Third prize went to John Thomas who caught two eels weighing 1lb 1oz. A single bass weighing 2.66kg was Tony Hart's winning catch in the Newport Sea Anglers competition at St Brides, but weights plummeted after that with 260gm good enough to put Mark Prytherch in second place and David McCann third with 130gm. The club's roving competition was better. Chris Jenkins won with 2.03kg; Steve Rousen was runner-up with 1.85kg and Rob Phillips third with 1.49kg. Elysian SAC has a competition at Aberthaw and Porthkerry on Sunday, fishing over low water from 1.30pm to 6.30pm. Competitors book in at the Cwm See Meta Data Coalition. Ciddy car park by 12.45pm. |
