Brix Networks(TM), a company empowering carriers and service providers with the ability to deploy value-added Internet Protocol (IP) services, today announced the addition of two veteran high-tech executives to its ranks that round out the startup firm's senior management team.

Rick Mealy has been appointed vice president, worldwide sales and service, while John McNamara was named vice president, manufacturing. Both report to Tom Pincince, president and CEO of Brix Networks.

With the hiring of Mealy and McNamara, the Brix executive staff is now complete. In addition to Pincince, they join Steve DesRochers, vice president, engineering; Maura McInerney, vice president, finance and CFO; and Jamie Warter, vice president, marketing and business development.

Mealy has more than 23 years of experience in sales management, operations, service, and business development in the data communications industry. He joins Brix following a five-year tenure at UUNET, an MCI Worldcom company, where he served in various business development and management positions. Most recently, Mealy was UUNET's director of hosting services where he contributed to more than doubling revenue in 1999, and grew the sales and support teams by 50 percent in one year. Previously, Mealy served in diverse sales management, marketing, and operations roles at Infonet Services Corp., US Sprint, and Computer Science Corporation.

McNamara has 22 years of manufacturing engineering experience in the networking industry. Prior to joining Brix, he was vice president of operations for RSA Security (Security Dynamics). While there, McNamara built a high-volume manufacturing operation that supported that company's revenue growth from $30 million to $200 million in a three-year-period. Previously, he held manufacturing positions of increasing responsibility at Chipcom/3Com, Codex/Motorola, Raytheon, and GTE Sylvania.

At Brix, McNamara directs the company's manufacturing team, including quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, and test engineering efforts, to achieve volume production targets while adhering to the highest standards of excellence.
