British victims.


BRITONS who died when a pleasure boat capsized in Bahrain were mainly employees of firms helping to construct the island's World Trade Centre towers.

The Foreign Office says 12 Britons and three "dual-nationals" died in the tragedy, but have not confirmed their names.

South African-based construction firm Murray & Roberts identified:

David Evans David Evans may mean:
  • David Evans, composer (1874-1948)
  • David A. Evans (born 1941), organic chemistry professor at Harvard
  • David Allan Evans (born 1940), American poet
  • David C.
, 56, from Glasgow.

Will Nolan, 50, from Ipswich area.

Stephen Grady, 42, a contract painter, decorator and former publican publican [Lat.,=state employee], in ancient Rome, man who was employed by the state government under contract. As early as c.200 B.C. there was a class of men in Rome accustomed to undertaking contracts involving public works and tax collecting; the tax collectors  from Hebden Bridge.

Chris Braysher, 47, lived in South Africa but had a British passport.

Jimmy Allen, 59, was born in England.

Lawrence Sulman, 39, had a British passport.

UK-based engineering and architecture firm Atkins identified:

Scott Belch belch

To expel stomach gas noisily through the mouth; burp.
, 33, a chartered civil engineer from Redhill, Surrey, and wife Sandy.

Jason Brett and his wife Lucinda Lamb.

Andrew Debrunner, an engineer.

Carl Ottewell, a construction supervisor.

Christopher Langan, 53, an industrial surveyor from the Newcastle area.
