British television producers set to become Village people.


In a deal which provides Granada Television--one of the UK's largest independent television companies--ideal hightech office and production space, the company has just signed a 15,300-square foot lease for the top (ninth) floor at 609 Greeenwich Street.

The building is one block north of Houston, in trendy Greenwich Village Greenwich Village (grĕn`ĭch), residential district of lower Manhattan, New York City, extending S from 14th St. to Houston St. and W from Washington Square to the Hudson River. .

CB Richard Ellis' Matthew Bergey and Jodi Roberts arranged the five-year deal for Granada, while Neil Joffee, Barbara Craig and Daniel Levine of Newmark and Company Real Estate, Inc., acted for the landlord, Centaur centaur (sĕn`tôr), in Greek mythology, creature, half man and half horse. Office rents in that part of Manhattan are in the $20 per square foot range.

"Granada Television has wanted to establish its own permanent premises in the States for some time," noted Ms. Roberts.

She added that the company has been sharing space for the past two years with the New York New York, state, United States

According to Isaac Bolden, Head of Production for Granada, the company is thrilled with the move.
