British nationalism is a threat, not language. It seems David Lewis is not only unhappy about S4C S4C skate for cancer S4C Siannel Pedwar Cymru (Channel 4 Wales, Television) but now roadsigns and bilingual forms. He also thinks that Welsh nationalism is a threat to our peace and harmony. I wonder if Mr Lewis knows that in the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and now even Cornwall there are bilingual road signs, forms and television programmes in their native Celtic languages, despite not being as strong and widely spoken as Welsh is in Wales. In Cornwall's case it is to rediscover their Celtic heritage, increase the use of Cornish and tap into the popularity of Celtic culture throughout the world and increase tourism. The only threat to our peace and harmony is contributing and taking part in a war with Iraq and the wider Muslim world with America. Thankfully, in Wales we are a tolerant society on the whole as we realise and respect the right to people from all round the world to hold on to and celebrate their cultures. Indeed, the Llangollen International Eisteddfod was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize The Nobel Peace Prize (Swedish and Norwegian: Nobels fredspris) is the name of one of five Nobel Prizes bequeathed by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel. for its celebration of multi-culturism and linguism. It is Mr Lewis's British nationalism and monoglot mon·o·glot n. A person who knows only one language. adj. Knowing only one language; monolingual. [mono- + (poly)glot. outlook on a multi-cultural Europe and world that is the real danger to our peace and harmony, not the Welsh language and nationalism which, similar to native Indian and Aboriginal, is a cultural internationalism.
