It will arrive at Moorpool Hall from November 26-29 - on the wings of a defensive note insisting that it has not been chosen because of the well-documented dearth of new plays in the West End, but because the story, set in a small hotel in Bournemouth, is British drama at its best.

THREE Wolverhampton youth theatres celebrating milestone birthdays are to stage a big five-day youth theatre festival - and will give other young people a chance to learn the technical side of presenting drama and to work alongside professional set and costume designers.

The theatre festival is taking place during half term from October 27-31 at the Newhampton Arts Centre, Dunkley Street, Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton.

About 100 youth theatre members from Wolverhampton Central Youth Theatre (CYT), Village Playhouse Youth Theatre, Park Village, and Kuumba Arts Movement, Pendeford, will be taking part in specialist workshops and social events as well as making a show in a week.

CYT Director Jane Ward says: "Anyone aged from 13 upwards who is interested in lighting, sound, costume and theatre design would really benefit fromgetting involved in the week, working alongside professional artists.

"It's going to be a really fun week as well as quite challenging. Creating a show, with full lighting, costumes and props, is a big thing."
