British basketball blow; BASKETBALL.

GREAT Britain's men's basketball team have been dealt a blow with the news Byron Mullens will miss the Olympics due to injury.

The Charlotte Bobcats The Charlotte Bobcats are a professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. They play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association.  centre was one of just three athletes that play in the NBA due to represent Team GB at this year's Games but his long-standing toe complaint will force him to miss out.

Mullens was born in Ohio but his mother is from Middlesex, making him eligible to receive his passport in March.

Head coach Chris Finch said: "It is disappointing but we have a very strong squad in camp with us in Houston at the moment.

"Everyone here is focused on the task at hand and we now turn our attention to our first warm-up games of the summer this week."
