British Telecommunications PLC Joins Intel's iCat E-Commerce Provider Program as First Customer; BT's StoreCentre to Offer E-Commerce Services to Its Customers.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 1999--

Publicly accessible computer network connecting many smaller networks from around the world. It grew out of a U.S. Defense Department program called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), established in 1969 with connections between computers at the
 commerce over their current Web sites. The service will be offered directly through BT's Website at www.ebusiness See e-business. .bt.com/storecentre.

The program will also be made available to BT's 150 wholly owned and subsidiary companies worldwide.

All of the merchants who build stores through the BT StoreCentre will have access to the same sales channels and marketing services offered to iCat merchants, including the recently announced Excite Shopping Service, a collaboration Working together on a project. Intel's iCat division launched the iCat E-commerce Provider Program in May 1999. The program enables companies to package, co-brand and offer iCat Commerce Online to its base of small and medium-sized merchants, without having to shoulder the substantial cost of development.
