British Red Cross Selects Stellent to Improve Information Flow; World's Largest Independent Humanitarian Movement Streamlines Information Using the Stellent Content Management System.

Stellent(TM), Ltd. (Nasdaq:STEL), the London-based subsidiary of Stellent, Inc., a global provider of enterprise content management solutions, announced today that the British Red Cross, part of the world's largest humanitarian movement, has selected the Stellent(TM) Content Management system to manage internal information. The British Red Cross chose Stellent as its content management system in order to merge its existing intranets into one central portal site, making important information fully available to its large number of employees and network of volunteers.

Throughout the United Kingdom, the British Red Cross assists the statutory authorities in dealing with the needs of individuals affected by major emergencies, such as train crashes and floods, ensuring that victims, survivors and their families are provided for in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. With 4,500 UK employees and more than 50,000 volunteers, it is essential that information held by the Red Cross is accessible to each of its staff, and that this information can be easily updated and published.

"For an organisation such as ours, it's vital that we are efficient with information. The Stellent Content Management System will ensure that our internal information is up to date and searchable," said Miguel Fiallos, MIS manager for finance at the Red Cross. "We currently operate four intranets - for departments such as human resources and finance - which are time consuming and expensive to update. With one central intranet, it will be much simpler to access internal information, and the staff will be able to easily update the site themselves."

The British Red Cross will use the Stellent Content Publisher, Stellent Content Server and Stellent PDF Converter software. When content is checked into the Stellent Content Server, the system enables content contributors at all levels of the organisation to tag and index documents, which will allow fellow users of the Red Cross' intranet to search and retrieve documents more easily.

The Stellent Content Publisher will automatically convert content stored in the Stellent Content Server from its native format to a variety of Web formats, such as HTML, XML, PDF or WML, and automatically publish the content to the British Red Cross intranet, eliminating the need to route content through a Webmaster for coding prior to publishing. Stellent Content Management will also publish the content in design templates, producing a uniform look and feel throughout the entire British Red Cross site.

"We prefer to publish our internal content on the intranet in PDF format for consistency. Stellent was an ideal choice because the PDF Converter software automatically converts native files, such as Word and Excel, into PDF format. This means that content contributors will be able to submit and maintain site content using their ordinary desktop tools," Fiallos added.
