Temperatures were expected to be noticeably cooler from today, with the arrival of a cold front from Canada bringing much colder but brighter weather.

However, this will be followed tomorrow by even colder air from the Arctic, which will arrive in Scotland before sweeping south. By Monday night, heavy snow showers will hit the North of England.
