Britain Today: Soldier named.

A BRITISH soldier killed in southern Afghanistan was named yesterday.

Sergeant Dave Wilkinson, 33, of the 19 Regiment Royal Artillery, was killed when his vehicle was blown up after an exchange of fire on Sunday which also injured four other soldiers.

Sgt Wilkinson was married and from Ashford, Kent.

He was the second British soldier to die in Afghanistan at the weekend.

Captain Sean Dolan from 1st Battalion, The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters, died while on an operation with US and Afghan troops in Helmand province on Saturday.
