Bristol Retail Solutions Unit Awarded Contract by Food Giant to Install NCR POS Systems.


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 21, 1998--Bristol Retail Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq:BRTL) Monday announced its CRI CRI

constant-rate infusion.
 Bristol subsidiary was awarded a contract to install point-of-sale (POS (1) See point of sale and packet over SONET.

) systems manufactured by NCR (NCR Corporation, Dayton, OH, www.ncr.com) A technology company specializing in financial terminal transactions, retail systems and data warehousing. Until the late 1990s, NCR was heavily invested in the hardware side of the industry, known worldwide as a major manufacturer of computers  Corp. at 18 Food Giant supermarkets in Western Kentucky.

The company said the award was one of the largest single orders for POS systems received by CRI Bristol. The systems to be installed by Bristol's CRI subsidiary, which is based in London, Ky., will span 108 checkout lanes at the Food Giant stores.

The installations will feature the NCR Model 7452 POS system and Scanmaster(tm) software customized for supermarket transactions.

CRI Bristol, based in London, Ky., sells, installs and supports POS systems at restaurants, fast food outlets and supermarkets in the Southeast and Midwest.

Bristol Retail Solutions, with headquarters in Newport Beach, provides retail automation products and services through a company-owned network of point-of-sale businesses in 17 cities and 18 states.
