Bristol Group Mitretek Acquires New Name; Group to Serve as Foundation of Private Sector Practice within Mitretek Healthcare.


FALLS CHURCH Falls Church, independent city (1990 pop. 9,578), NE Va., a residential suburb of Washington, D.C.; inc. as a town 1875, as a city 1948. There is diverse light manufacturing, including telecommunications equipment. , Va. -- Mitretek Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that, effective August 30, 2004, Bristol Group Mitretek, a part of Mitretek primarily providing strategy and planning services to private sector healthcare organizations, will be known as Mitretek Healthcare. With this name change, the group will serve as the foundation of the support to the private sector within the newly expanded Mitretek Healthcare practice, which provides strategy and innovative solutions in the public interest to both Federal and private sector healthcare organizations. Mitretek Systems acquired Bristol Group Mitretek, formerly known as The Bristol Group, in 2002.

Mitretek Healthcare includes three operating components: its ongoing Healthcare Strategic Services; its new Center for Health Innovation; and its recently initiated Technology-based Services.

Mitretek Healthcare's expanded Strategic Services will provide healthcare strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people. , clinical services planning, and operations and facility planning, as well as innovative design of clinical and business work and decision processes. It will also continue to provide independent, unbiased advice and guidance related to healthcare information technology (IT) planning, acquisition support, information assurance, information management, and IT-enabled process improvement. Mitretek Healthcare's services address the needs of hospitals, multi-hospital systems, academic medical centers, physician organizations, post-acute services, health plans and payers, and life sciences organizations in both the public and private sectors.

A key feature of the expanded healthcare practice is the new Center for Health Innovation - the component of Mitretek Healthcare that pursues research and innovation around societal so·ci·e·tal
