Brio Technology and Unisys Corporation Team Up To Offer Data Warehouse Solutions for Targeted Markets.

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 1996--Brio Technology, the fastest growing supplier of desktop decision support solutions for data warehouses, and Unisys Corporation, a leading global information management company, today announced a worldwide value added reseller agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Unisys will resell Brio Technology's desktop OLAP product, BrioQuery, as part of their decision support solutions. In addition, both companies will develop specialized end-to-end data warehouse solutions for targeted vertical industries.

This announcement marks the availability of one of the first industry-focused data warehousing solutions, combining components from different vendors to build solutions for specific industries, which should save customers both the time and hassle involved with building their own specific solutions.

The specialized industry vertical solutions will target the financial, retail and telecommunications sectors. Specifically, each of these solutions will provide companies with the ability to create a data warehouse environment, thereby decreasing time to market, alleviating research costs and gaining a significant competitive advantage.
