Brio Technology Announces Partnership With IBM to Cooperatively Market Complete Data Warehouse Solution; Brio Technology Elevates Relationship to Become Full Business Partner Within IBM's Software Vendor Marketing Program.

IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  business partner through IBM's Software Vendor Marketing Program (SVMP). As a full business partner, Brio (Brio Technology, Palo Alto, CA, www.brio.com) A software company founded in 1989 and acquired by Hyperion Solutions Corporation in 2003 that specialized in enterprise analysis and reporting programs that run on several platforms.  and IBM will cooperatively market a complete data warehouse solution, leveraging the strength of the IBM sales force.

Effective today, IBM will work closely with Brio Technology's marketing, sales and support staff to jointly promote BrioQuery Enterprise, Brio's integrated desktop query, reporting and analysis tool, as one of IBM's preferred data warehouse access products. The first step will be to include BrioQuery Enterprise in IBM's National Solution Center database, a resource from which the worldwide IBM sales organization draws information and creates customized solutions. Having BrioQuery Enterprise on IBM's approved product database enables IBM's customers access to the premier desktop decision support solution for the data warehouse.

Brio Technology and IBM have a proven track record since partnering in 1994 as part of the AS/400 Client Series Program where Brio provided IBM customers with intuitive, graphical desktop decision support tools. Prior to that, Brio Technology had an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  relationship with IBM in which Brio's data access technology was incorporated into and sold as part of IBM's Taligent product line.
