Bring in the Millennium With UC Berkeley Extension in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1999-- This winter, UC Berkeley Extension will offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring in the new millennium by getting an insider's look at the complexity and richness of the cultural heritage of Indochina. Led by art historian Ginni Dofflemyer, participants in this program will visit Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. The carefully planned itinerary will balance visits to key museums, archaeological sites and temples, with time spent at tribal villages and markets. Dofflemyer's lectures will examine the history and cultural heritage of these countries and relate that legacy to today's living cultures. The program will begin in Vietnam, where participants will visit Ho Chi Minh City Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, city (1997 pop. 5,250,000), on the right bank of the Saigon River, a tributary of the Dong Nai, Vietnam.
