Brinell Measurement System.

Newage Testing Instruments, Inc., produces the B.O.S,S. System, a computer-driven Brinell measurement system that automatically views and measures Brinell impressions using a handheld scanhead, converts the measurements to Brinell values and stores the results. The system also measures total case depth of heat-treated samples and other types of metallurgical structures using a linear measurement mode. It has the ability to capture and file images that are being measured along with an overlay of measurement information. A full-screen viewing mode condenses the measurement controls to a small area of the screen so larger structures can be measured and the operator can have a better view of the test area. The system also captures images of other surface structures such as cracks, pitting, corrosion and coating thickness at 20X resolution. Capabilities for statistical processing and descriptive information include the ability to add comments at any point during the process and the ability to calculate average fun ctions and graph results using histograms and X-Bar & R charting.--Newage Testing Instruments, Inc.
