b3d Studio Software Tools Completes Rigid Testing With

Over 1500 Beta Licensees Included

Following the successful beta test launched in July 2000, Brilliant Digital Entertainment Inc. (AMEX:BDE), announced the release of the shipping version of its b3d Studio software, rich media production tools.

Feedback from the 1500+ beta licensees was obtained from independent animators and production studios whose user experiences and feature requests were incorporated into the shipping version 2.0 of the software.

Beta testers included high profile production houses such as MindGel, Mondo Media, Aston Entertainment, Jinx, 3D Mirage and others. The tools will continue to be available as a free trial version. In two weeks the company will launch its new Web site where the full suite of b3d software will be available for purchase online.

b3d authoring tools allow artists, modelers and animators to create sophisticated animation for the Internet.

By allowing artists to use industry standard modeling and animation packages such as 3ds max(TM) by Autodesk's (NASD:ADSK) Discreet and Maya by Silicon Graphics' (NASD:SGI) Alias|Wavefront, Brilliant's(TM) tools tap into a wide range of talented developers looking for a means to put their 3D content on the Web.

Models and animation clips from these packages can be imported into b3d Studio where they are edited using a familiar visual editing timeline to create projects quickly and efficiently.

Brilliant's patent-pending geometry, animation and streaming technology is then applied to quickly and easily output the project as highly compressed files ready for placement on a Web server.

Brilliant will significantly increase the exposure of b3d Studio to a broader base of animation professionals when it releases a compatible version of its b3d Exporter software for Alias|Wavefront's popular Maya animation package in April 2001.

b3d Studio software continues Brilliant's tradition of support for Discreet's customers by providing updated connectivity for Discreet's newly released version of 3ds max 4.0.

b3d Studio and b3d Exporters are available as both paid and free trial version downloads. The free trial version contains all the functionality of the paid version, but adds a "b3d watermark" over animations produced by the product. Upgrading to the paid version of the software allows non-watermarked content to be created.
