Multiple encounters with a deadly professional killers keep tension high. Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes' Full Bloom (1695008-377, $24.95) receives Lorelei Lorelei (lôr`əlī, Ger. lō`rəlī), cliff, 433 ft (132 m) high, on the right bank of the Rhine River, near St. Goarshausen, W Germany, about midway between Koblenz and Bingen. King's smooth and passionate rendition as it tells of one Annie Fortenberry, who has inherited not only a b&b business, but a ghost. King's voice highlights the drama and ironies in a romance involving murder, an ex-husband, and a mystery. Laurell K. Hamilton's A Stroke Of Midnight (1695-008121, $26.95) benefits from veteran Laural Merlington's passionate rendition which brings to life the underlying intrigue of a seductive novel of a female P.I. based in Los Angeles who doubles as a faerie princess in another world. Human politics vie with faerie needs and place Meredith at odds with her heritage on both sides in this engrossing engrossing, in English law, practice of acquiring a monopoly of goods in order to sell them at an inflated price. The offense was ordinarily limited to monopolies of foods.
