, today announced it has opened a new office in Richardson, Texas' Telecom Corridor to conduct software development, software product testing and sales. The 3,000 sq. ft. office, located in Renner Plaza, was established in March by a staff of three, and has since grown to 12 people. This rapid expansion has the BrightLink Networks' Texas office already planning to move to a larger facility in Plano later this year. The new location, situated just across the Richardson line, will provide BrightLink Networks with 18,500 sq. ft. of space for its Texas staff, which is expected to grow to fifty people by year-end.

BrightLink Networks is part of an influx of Silicon Valley companies moving to Richardson's booming telecom community. "BrightLink was attracted to the Richardson area because of its vast pool of telecom talent," said Dave Rodgers Dave Rodger (born 18 June, 1955 in Hamilton, New Zealand) is a former New Zealand rower who won an Olympic Bronze medal. The expanded offices will make room for additional software development staff as well as new marketing and customer support operations.

The expanded BrightLink Networks office will be located just inside the Plano line, one block north of a massive Cisco facility planned for Richardson. The move, scheduled for later this year, will take place just in time for the first carrier lab trials of the company's new optical transport switching system product, which are anticipated to begin in the third quarter of 2000, with general availability planned for the fourth quarter of 2000.

"As a well-funded start-up, we're excited about the growth opportunities we see in Richardson's very hot telecom market," said George Wheeler Captain George Montague Wheeler (born Grafton, Massachusetts, October 9, 1842) was a pioneering explorer and cartographer, leader of the Wheeler Survey, one of the major surveys of the western United States in the late nineteenth century. , software director at BrightLink Networks' Texas office.
