Philip J. "Phil" Hughes (born June 24, 1986 in Mission Viejo, California) is a professional baseball right-handed starting pitcher, who was the first-round pick
 to vice president of international marketing. Hughes, formerly the vice president of program management, will focus on the vast untapped international market for optical switching systems, taking BrightLink into multinational and foreign enterprises in Europe and parts of Asia.

"There is an explosion of optical networking Communications between computers, telephones and other electronic devices using light. An optical network is far more reliable and has far greater potential transmission capacity than networking in the electrical domain. A native of the United Kingdom, Hughes is a natural fit to take BrightLink to the European Market. Prior to BrightLink, Hughes held senior level positions in marketing in the semiconductor industry both in Europe and in the U.S. Most recently Hughes was senior marketing manager with National Semiconductor. Hughes will also have responsibilities for Asia and Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies.  in Japan, in addition to his duties in Europe.
