Monkseaton Rotary Club chairman Barbara Connors-Fowler announced the plans at a meeting for members at The Monkseaton Arms. She said: "I'm delighted that the low energy light-bulbs will be delivered to each qualifying applicant at absolutely no cost and without strings. "Rotary is supporting the national commitment to reduce energy consumption at this time of high electricity prices. "The further 50,000 bulbs we are giving away before Easter are just as bright as ordinary ones but use up to 80% less electricity and last around eight times longer." Call 0191 252 8405. |
