Bright hope for Olympics.

THE new home of the Olympics in Ireland marks a milestone for the future of sport, it was claimed yesterday.

Sports Minister John O'Donoghue said the Olympic Council Olympic Council may refer to:
  • Olympic Council of Asia, a governing body of sports in Asia
  • Olympic Council of Ireland, the national Olympic Committee for the Republic of Ireland
  • Singapore National Olympic Council, a registered society
 of Ireland's new HQ would be the focal point focal point

 of efforts to bring home medals from the Beijing games in 2008.

The minister said that the aquisition of dedicated premises for the Olympic Council was "a milestone in the history of the Olympic movement in Ireland".

He added that the building in Howth, Co Dublin was a "splendid and well-located headquarters of which we all can be proud".
