Briers makes return.

INFLUENTIAL half-back Lee Briers Lee Briers is a rugby league player who plays stand-off for Warrington Wolves. He formerly played for St Helens RFC, breaking into the first team as a teenager, standing in for the suspended captain Bobbie Goulding, and helping guide the Saints through to the 1997 Rugby League  is expected to make his Warrington Wolves return against the Giants at the Galpharm on Sunday.

But all the signs suggest he should make his Super League return this weekend as the Wolves seek to complete a double over the Giants.

And his return could not have come at a better time.

Great Britain prop Adrian Morley and goalkicking winger Chris hicks remain on Warrington's injury list, and they have now been joined by utility back Simon Grix.

The 23-year-old, who has appeared in 18 of the Wolves' last 19 League and Cup matches, suffered a serious mouth injury in the early stages of last Saturday's 40-26 home defeat to St Helens.

"I asked him how many stitches he'd had and he said there were too many to count," said Warrington coach and former Giants chief Tony Smith. "He had quite a few on the outside and the amount they put on the inside was enormous as well.

"It was a severe cut. Some of the stitching was done here but the more intricate stuff was done in hospital.

"It will have to be well healed before he can play because it's in a position where we can't protect it."
