In addition to developing the site architecture and user interface, DVCi is also creating a promotional and branding campaign around the site directed at the legal community. The marketing program and refinements to the site will continue through the remainder of 1999, DeLellis said.

DeLellis noted that ordinarily law firms use Washington, DC-based messenger services to stand in line at the U.S. Supreme Court and request, and duplicate particular briefs. Fees for these services can greatly exceed the cost of retrieving the documents online using Briefserve.com. Briefs and other documents are available immediately and can be purchased by credit card or utilize a pre-purchase account.

The DVCi executive said that the service also makes available up-to-date Supreme Court calendars as free downloads.
