JA recieves award

WORCESTER - Junior Achievement of Central Massachusetts recently received the MetLife Foundation Entrepreneurial Award, which comes with a $25,000 prize, for its community partnership model to maximize impact for at-risk students.

The prize was awarded at a worldwide JA leadership event in Washington, D.C. The Worcester chapter also shared the JA Worldwide Collaboration Award with the Western Massachusetts chapter in recognition of their work to obtain federal education money for all Junior Achievement programs in the state.

Junior Achievement focuses on teaching young people about business and economics.

Made in Massachusetts

Four Central Massachusetts businesses are scheduled to participate in the third Made in Massachusetts Day July 25 at the Statehouse in Boston.

Artigo/Ajemian Films and Facente Mosaic Studios, both of Worcester, Riverdale Mills Corp. of Northbridge and Vaillancourt Folk Art of Sutton will show off their products and services at the event, which is free and will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dozens of Massachusetts businesses are expected to participate in the show, according to a news release from the Massachusetts Department of Business Development.
