Ocean Fest features

live music, quilt show

WINCHESTER BAY - The cities of Reedsport and Winchester Bay are putting on Ocean Fest this weekend, featuring rock and mineral shows, live music, a vendors' fair, a quilt show, wood turning demonstrations and a parade, among other things.

Prizes will be awarded for best costume, best owner and pet pair, best group entry and more. Parade entry is a donation of $5, or $25 for a commercial entry. Entry forms are available at the parade before 11:30 a.m.

Coast aquarium hosts

sale to benefit cancer

NEWPORT - The Oregon Coast Aquarium Coordinates:

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is an aquarium in Newport, Oregon.
, 2820 Southeast Ferry Slip A ferry slip is a specialized docking facility that receives a ferryboat. A similar structure called a barge slip receives a barge that is used to transport wheeled vehicles.  Road, is holding a sale and barbecue on Saturday to benefit cancer.

The sale, featuring items donated from the gift shop, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from the gift shop and a percentage of the food and soda sales will go to the Newport Relay for Life Relay For Life (often shortened to Relay) is a fundraising event of the American Cancer Society, and is now held in many other countries. It is an overnight event designed to spread awareness of cancer prevention, treatments and cures, celebrate survivorship and raise money .

Classic American songs to sound at jamboree

FLORENCE - The Florence Area Alzheimer Hospitality Program's "Americana Jamboree" will be held from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Florence Elks Lodge, 1686 12th St.
