Lemolo area plans topic

of Forest Service meeting

ROSEBURG - The U.S. Forest Service will hold a public meeting Wednesday to discuss the release of the Lemolo Draft Environmental Statement at the Douglas County Douglas County is the name of twelve counties in the United States:
  • Douglas County, Colorado (Located in the Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Area)
  • Douglas County, Georgia (Located in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area)
  • Douglas County, Illinois
  • Douglas County, Kansas

The topic of the meeting will center on future plans for the Lemolo area, located in the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest Umpqua National Forest, in southern Oregon's Cascade mountains, covers an area of one-million acres (4,000 km²), and borders Crater Lake National Park. The meeting will be in the Ford Community Room of the library from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Forest Service asks that people park in the county parking lot across Fowler Street.

Nazi invasion of Russia subject of presentation

Nathan Fendrich will unveil "The Great Patriotic War The term Great Patriotic War (Russian: Великая Отечественная война, ," an audio-visual presentation focusing on the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union during World War II, at the Veterans Building in Eugene on Tuesday.

The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the building's ballroom.

A second presentation, an examination of the epic battle of Stalingrad The Battle of Stalingrad was a battle between Germany and its allies and the Soviet Union for the Soviet city of Stalingrad (today known as Volgograd) that took place between August 21 1942 and February 2 1943, as part of World War II. , is scheduled for next Tuesday.

KLCC KLCC Kuala Lumpur City Centre (Malaysia)  radio station tops fund-raising target

Eugene radio station KLCC exceeded its goal when it collected $252,000 through two fund-raising programs in recent weeks, the station said.

More than 3,500 donors gave money to the station, which is funded mainly by listener and local business support. KLCC's "2003 Fall Radiothon" ended Oct. 9, capping off weeks of fund raising for the station.
