reports jump in quarter profits

Florence (flôr`əns, flŏr`–), Ital. Firenze, city (1991 pop. 403,294), capital of Tuscany and of Firenze prov., central Italy, on the Arno River, at the foot of the Apennines.
 - The holding company of Siuslaw Valley Bank has reported a 32 percent jump in third-quarter profits.

Siuslaw Financial Group said it earned $1.026 million in the three- month period ended Sept. 30, compared to $778,000 in the year-earlier period.

The Florence-based bank, with nine branches in Lane County, said

assets grew $11.3 million during the quarter, reaching $230.2 million.

Based on its financial performance, the firm last month announced that it was boosting its dividend by 5 cents, bringing its last quarterly dividend paid to shareholders to 15 cents a share.
