The participation of the world's most exciting golfer boosted attendance to about 35,000 per day and the church, which is in the Diocese of Niagara, charged for parking: $20 per day for cars, $25 for vans. Official Glen Abbey parking was free, but only available in lots some distance from the course, reachable by shuttle bus. The church, which has been charging for parking at the tournament for several years, as have other nearby schools and businesses, collected $19,400 over the tournament's five days, and intends to put it towards a $1.5 million building fund and outreach initiatives such as Primate's World Relief and Development Fund.

Diocese sued

It was the fourth general secretaries' conference; the previous one was in Singapore in 1995.
