Bridgford Foods Corporation Announces Higher Sales and Earnings in the Second Quarter and First Half.

ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 1999--

Bridgford Foods Corp. (Nasdaq: BRID) Wednesday announced higher sales and earnings for the second quarter and first half of its 1999 fiscal year.

Sales for the second quarter ended April 30, 1999 increased 2.5% to $33,138,899 compared with the same period last year. Pretax and net income each increased 11.3% compared with the same period a year ago.

Sales for the first half of 1999 increased 2.8% to $69,698,531 compared with the same period in 1998 while pretax and net income were each 29.7% higher than the comparable items in the first half of 1998. Pretax income for the first half of 1999 includes a $600,000 gain from the sale of a parcel of land in the first quarter of 1999.

Bridgford Foods Corp., a producer of frozen bread dough, microwaveable cheeseburgers and sandwiches, processed meats, dry sausages and other convenience food products currently has 11,370,000 shares outstanding.
