Bridgestone, tire firms sue Chemtura for prices.

 are suing rubber chemicals maker Chemtura in federal court in Nashville, seeking refunds and triple damages for goods purchased during a global price fixing price fixing n. a criminal violation of federal anti-trust statutes, in which several competing businesses reach a secret agreement (conspiracy) to set prices for their products to prevent real competition and keep the public from benefiting from price competition.  conspiracy. Middlebury, CT-based Chemtura, which last year changed its name from Crompton, has pleaded guilty in a federal case and has been fined by European regulators for its role in artificially boosting prices of chemicals used to make rubber between 1995 and 2001.
