Today Susan and Allun Davis spoke of their son's personality change.

Mum-of-four Mrs Davis, aged 36, said: "Before this happened he was a loving, friendly boy, but now he kicks out at people and misbehaves.

"It seems as though he is mimicking what has happened to him. He never used to be aggressive.

"He also has turned against me for some reason, which is very hard for me to cope with."

"It appears to be getting worse as each day goes by."

Charlie has had wounds to his ear stitched and his head is heavily bandaged. He is due to undergo further treatment.

A boy of 11 was arrested on suspicion of assault, and released on bail.
