He said: "This is a huge game for me because I was recently with Pollok but things just didn't work out. At my age I need to play every week and that wasn't the case.

"Ironically, I joined them from Rob Roy as the opportunity was just too good to turn down. But there were five players all vying for the one position and I just couldn't cement a regular start.

"I spoke to the manager, Rab Sneddon, who was terrific about my situation and very professional.

"It was agreed it would be best for me to leave to start enjoying the game again and I jumped at the chance to get back to Rob Roy for my third spell with the club.

"We managed to get our first win on the board last weekend and that's something we need to build on.

"There's no doubt there's enough quality in our squad to make this a successful season so we must forget about the start we've made and look to keep progressing.

"If we can get a result against Pollok it will be another shot in the arm and that's the intention.

"I know the players they have better than anyone and they're a terrific side but if we want to be challenging at the top then these are the kind of games we must show we have what it takes to do that."
