Brian Waterman honored by YM/WREA at Jan. 17 event. (Transcripts).


Brian S The name Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) comes from an Irish backround. It is of Celtic origin and its meaning may be "hill" or "strong, noble, and high"[1]. . Waterman, executive vice president and principal of Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. was honored as the 2001 Young Man of the Year by the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association (YM/WREA).

The award was presented at the Real Estate Board of New York's annual banquet A banquet is a large public meal or feast, complete with main courses and desserts. It usually serves a purpose, such as a charitable gathering, a ceremony, or a celebration. Sometimes a banquet consists of only desserts, but it is advisable to include main courses as well.  on Jan. 17. Waterman received the honor in recognition for his achievements as a real estate professional as well as for his dedication to community involvement.

Since joining Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. in 1985, Waterman has negotiated leasing transactions in excess of $700 million, becoming a principal of the firm in 2000. During his 16 years in real estate, Waterman has represented such prominent tenants as Sony Corporation, Mizuho Capital Mizuho Capital Co., Ltd. (みずほキャピタル株式会社   (a division of Fuji Capital), Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Goldman Sachs The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., or simply Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) is one of the world's largest global investment banks. Goldman Sachs was founded in 1869, and is headquartered in the Lower Manhattan area of New York City at 85 Broad Street. , American Stock Transfer and Trust Co. and Banco Totta & Acores.

Waterman has also represented industry-leading property owners including Amtrust, Inc., Canadian Imperial Bank Corporation, Emmes & Company, Apollo Partners, Taconic Investment Partners, Archon Group and Goldman Sachs.
