Waterman, executive vice president and principal of Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. was honored as the 2001 Young Man of the Year by the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association (YM/WREA). The award was presented at the Real Estate Board of New York's annual banquet A banquet is a large public meal or feast, complete with main courses and desserts. Waterman received the honor in recognition for his achievements as a real estate professional as well as for his dedication to community involvement. Since joining Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc. in 1985, Waterman has negotiated leasing transactions in excess of $700 million, becoming a principal of the firm in 2000. During his 16 years in real estate, Waterman has represented such prominent tenants as Sony Corporation, Mizuho Capital Mizuho Capital Co., Ltd.
