Brian J. Smith named President of Risk Management Association's San Diego Chapter.

SAN DIEGO -- Security Business Bank (OTCBB: SBBK) today announced that Vice President Brian J. Smith has been elected President of the Risk Management Association's (RMA) San Diego Chapter.

RMA is a non-profit, member-driven professional association whose purpose is to advance the use of sound risk principles in the financial services industry. It also provides an education and training program for members, focusing on credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. The San Diego Chapter has fifty members representing twenty banks in San Diego County and twelve affinity organizations.

"As a longtime board member, I've gained the experience needed to step in and lead our local chapter of the Risk Management Association," said Smith. As Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer of Security Business Bank, Smith is responsible for the direct underwriting of various types of commercial credit requests and the direct management of a portfolio of business banking relationships for small to medium-sized businesses. Smith will also be responsible for managing the Bank's third office, which will be located in Carlsbad and is expected to open in first quarter 2006.

Smith's resume includes over 15 years of commercial loan officer and bank relationship management experience throughout the San Diego region, including positions with US Bank, Peninsula Bank of San Diego, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. He most recently served as Commercial Loan Officer/Relationship Manager/Branch Manager - Vice President for Southwest Community Bank in Carlsbad where he focused on relationship building and customer advocacy for commercial banking customers.

Smith obtained his B.S. in Business Administration Management from Colorado State University and recently earned a graduate level degree from Pacific Coast Banking School in August 2005.
