Brian Henrichs Joins Actiontec as VP of Business Development for Telco Division.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Actiontec Electronics today announced the appointment of Brian Henrichs to serve as Vice President of Business Development for the telco division, with responsibility for spearheading placement of the company's IPTV-capable gateways, routers and other customer premises equipment with service providers and strategic partners. Henrichs' background includes 25 years in the telecommunications industry with companies such as Westell Technologies, GenBand and HyperEdge.

Henrichs' focus on CPE equipment and involvement at a senior management level date back to 1990, when he became Director of CPE Marketing and Engineering for Teltrend Inc. before it was acquired by Westell. He joined Westell as an engineering supervisor in 1993 and received a series of promotions to become Vice President and General Manager of Broadband CPE in 1999. His positions since then have included Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development for General Bandwidth (now GenBand) and Chief Technology Officer for HyperEdge Corporation (now part of Westell).

Henrichs has also initiated many interoperability and standardization initiatives, helped found and served as the first technical working group chair of the DSL Forum, has authored several articles on telecommunications topics, and has been a speaker at industry forums and conferences.
