Vista park, even though it sucks ass.

I like Poway park, the tranny; but the pad nanny fuckers are always there.

You lost your virginity in the bathroom of a skatepark?

Yeah, pretty much. I was shredding, and she was down, so I went in the bathroom with her. And my other friend was going to have sex with her friend, but he pussed out. Someone got the camera out of the ear and started filming it.

Was there a scene when you came out of the bathroom?

No. I just came out and kept skating. It was hilarious.

How'd you get the nickname "Slash"?

I was skating with some kids up there in Laguna, I guess one of them thought I was crazy or something and started calling me that. They started calling me that every time I would go skate with them. Then it spread. It's fucked.

Are you not down for it?

I don't really care, but when I introduce myself I'm not going to say it.

What do you do in Vista besides skate?

There's always a bunch of bands playing at parties and stuff. My friend has a band called Psychedelic Priests; I listen to them play at my friend's house all the time. They kill it.

What kind of music do you listen to?

Old kick ass rock like Deep Purple, Zeppelin, AC/DC, Motorhead, Sabbath--number one for real.

Do you party a lot with Astleford?

When I see him. He's always out of control and shit. I can never find him.

Don't you guys tend to have problems at the local bar?

Before I had a fake ID I would have to sneak in. He told me I had to climb on some roof and wait for the guys to stop unloading beer. It was pretty late, so I just hopped down and joined the party. I party a lot up at Hellrose.

It seems like they're always partying.

Yeah. We go skate a lot, too. They kill it. Richie, Nuge, J Roy, and Fundio. Fundio is Thomas.

How'd they come with that one?

I think it means "asshole" in Spanish.

Have you always worn the rockstar gear?

I never wore huge pants. I started sucking up and sucking up, and now I'm basically down to no room at all.

How the hell can you skate when they're like that?

It's the best, like spandex. I tried on baggy pants and it didn't work. I was like, "What the fuck, I can't even see my shoes!"

What about all the holes with your junk hanging out?

That just happened today at the park. They just keep blowing out. I have to get new pants every week; it's horrible.

What about all your tats? Most of them look homemade.

They're all homemade. I've never had a professional tattoo.

How were your school days?

I hated high school. I kept moving around until I finally said luck it, and stopped going.

You didn't finish?

No. It was horrible; those kids are so ridiculous.

What sort of stuff would Slash teach if he were a teacher?

I'd teach them street smarts, how to live. How to stab someone and get the luck out of there.

Does that mean you have experience shanking people?

No, I'm about to. Shit, I get beat up every time.

Tell me about the last good beating you got.

We were outside this bar in Hollywood, the Echo. It was all the Hellrose guys and me. We're walking up, and these punkers started hitting J Roy in the face with a belt. There was so many of them, so we went and grabbed Melcher in the bar, but Melcher didn't fight. I don't know why we even grabbed him. We were yelling at these dudes, then I snapped. They all had stuff wrapped around their knuckles, and I was like, "Hit me, hit me with the belt. I'll take it. You're all fucked. You're about to get your blood spilled everywhere."

Would you have shanked them?

Yeah, one of them hit J Roy in the face again with a belt and knocked his teeth out. Some of them were pulling my hair, so I started chasing one of them down this alley I tackled him and started kicking him, then Ragdoll comes out of nowhere and full soccer kicks him in the mouth. He had to have broken his jaw, for sure. Everyone was fighting. It was gnarly.

You ever skate wasted?

I guess. I wake up still wasted and go skate.

What's your drink of choice?

Anything in a can. Anything you can shotgun.

What's your favorite terrain to skate?

Weird tranny obstacles. Anything out in the wild.

Out in the wild?

Anything that's not at a skatepark I call out in the wild. I just like not knowing what I'm going to do, and having to make up a trick I can't do and fucking do it. Not practicing it over and over at the skatepark 1,000 tries. I like to go to the spot and figure it out when you get there.

What's your favorite skate video?

Barrier Cult. It's some Canadian video.

These guys all listen to crazy black metal and wear skiers' masks over their faces. They only skate barriers, and they're doing the rawest tricks on barriers. It's sick.

I hear you got a new sponsor.

Yeah, I got on Black Label. Lucero called me before Christmas and told me he would give me a shot. Label is sick as fuck--Alfaro, Childress, Mumford--all those dudes. It's gnarly to get to be on a team with dudes like that.
