ASK any new band what's their biggest headache - and many will say it's getting gigs.

For many bands, particularly those outside Cardiff, it's a vicious circle A Vicious Circle (1996) is a novel by Amanda Craig which dissects and satirizes contemporary British society. But for the past 12 months promoters Dragon's Lair Dragon's Lair was one of the first laserdisc video games, released in June 1983 by Cinematronics. It featured animation created by former Disney animator Don Bluth.  have been doing their bit to keep music live.

), the team has given many young musicians the chance to reach a wider audience.

Now based at Sams Bar, where they've had a free entry policy, since the start of the year the Dragon's Lair nights are proving a springboard for bands, pulling in crowds of more than 80.

Founder Frank Connor-Hughes, said: "It's the chance to see superstars of the future."

With an established audience in the capital, Dragon's Lair are about to launch their first ever UK tour.

Starting on February 5 at Cardiff University Cardiff University (Welsh: Prifysgol Caerdydd) is a leading university located in the Cathays Park area of Cardiff, Wales. It received its Royal charter in 1883 and is a member of the Russell Group of Universities. It has an annual turnover of £315 million. , the No Disco Ball A disco ball, mirror ball, glitter ball, or ball mirror is a roughly spherical object that reflects light directed at it in many directions, producing a complex display.  Tour features three bands - Cardiff acoustic singer/songwriter Benn, North Wales' bilingual rockers Gwacamoli and Aussie band, Vine, who now live in Cardiff.

The tour will be taking in eight universities including Reading, Bristol, Brighton and Bath.
