It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM). ) software program that custom calibrates to an individual golfer's putting style and equipment. The program, a putting aid, is called I-Putt(TM).

"Long putts are a problem for golfers," said Philip A. Schmidt, principal and founder of GESC. "I-Putt's program calculates information based on the relationship between a golfer's swing and putting distance. I-Putt saves strokes."

I-Putt's purpose is to help golfers get the "feel" of the green. I-Putt calibrates to the conditions of golf courses, weather and technique. Golfers calibrate To adjust or bring into balance. Entering the results into I-Putt, the golfer then has a baseline of how the course's conditions are affecting his or her stroke.

At the green, simply count the number of paces from the ball to the cup and note whether the path is level, uphill or downhill. I-Putt instantly calculates how powerful the stroke needs to be in order to sink the putt. Using I-Putt does not slow a game. Rather, by saving strokes, golfers are likely to move off the green more quickly.

I-Putt is believed to be the first of its kind on the market. I-Putt is compatible with on Palm OS. Additional platforms are in development. The logic behind I-Putt led the inventors to create new terms See suggestions for new terms.  such as "backswing back·swing
