The dinner ladies who run the club believe healthy breakfasts are vital to fighting flab.

And they arrange sports competitions, too.

"The breakfast club is a really important part of the school," says deputy head Sandra Rex, who set up the club two years ago.

"Everyone mixes in, and sits down for a healthy breakfast which really builds us up for the day.

"It provides a great opportunity for us all to share with each other what we're doing and helps us care for one another, too.

"Above all, we have a lot of fun!"

Eating breakfast can also help reduce stress and depression levels in adults, and can kickstart metabolism to help with weight control.
