Break sprung.


It was 30-degrees out but it wasn't windy. Seeing the sun that day was unusual. The ground was dry and there was not really any salt to get caught on. So, we drove to the spot, a Jersey barrier with some transition concreted in. The run up was blacktop but at 30 degrees it feels harder than usual. We skated on for hours, pushing and yelling at each other, forced to keep moving to stay warm. Trains passed by and the conductors waved back, blowing horns. It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful feeling. Folding my laundry later that night I would stop moving, completely bent over, unfolded undershirt in hand, my mind captivated cap·ti·vate
