Brazilian biodiesel blasts off.


With its immense agricultural sector, Brazil Brazil (brəzĭl`), Port. Brasil, officially Federative Republic of Brazil, republic (2005 est. pop. 186,113,000), 3,286,470 sq mi (8,511,965 sq km), E South America.  has the raw materials to become a leader in biodiesel production Biodiesel production is the process of synthesizing biodiesel. Biodiesel is a liquid fuel source largely compatible with petroleum based diesel fuel. The most common method for its manufacture is synthesis by reacting a glyceride-containing plant oil with a short chain alcohol such . Now it's building the capacity to turn these resources into fuel. This spring the country saw the opening of its first two biodiesel production plants.
