Gary Resnick has been named manager of the biological threat reduction program at the Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) (previously known at various times as Site Y, Los Alamos Laboratory, and Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory) is a United States Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory, managed and operated by Los Alamos National , in Los Alamos, N.M. The lab's program in biological threat reduction aims to reduce the possible threat of biological agents from terrorist groups or third world countries.

Honeywell, located in Phoenix, Ariz., announced that Mike Smith, president of Honeywell's aerospace electronic systems, will retire after 28 years with the company, and Dean Flatt, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Flart served as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy, then entered the private sector as a nuclear test engineer. He joined AlliedSignal in May 1996. After the merger of AlliedSignal and Honeywell, he served as president of defense and space systems.

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Robert E Raggio has become the executive vice president for Dayton Aerospace Inc. He recently stepped down as the commander of the Aeronautical Systems Center. Raggio previously was program executive officer for fighters and bombers and system program director for the F-22 air superiority fighter An air superiority fighter is a type of fighter aircraft intended to enter and seize control of enemy airspace. Air superiority fighters are usually expensive aircraft, and procured in lesser numbers compared to smaller and generally more limited aircraft. .

Northrop Grumman Corporation's Electronic sector systems, located in Baltimore, has named Carl B. Fischer vice president and general manager of its newly created space systems division. Fischer began his business career in 1964 with North American Aviation's Rocketdyne Division as an associate engineer working on liquid rocker engines for the U.S. space program. He joined Aerojet in 1966 and has held a number of senior management and leadership positions with the company.

Charles P. Nemfakos has been appointed director, internal programs development, for Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems, located in Baltimore, Md. Nemfakos recently served as the Department of the Navy's chief financial officer, responsible for the department's financial operations, budgetary requirements, fiscal controls and financial statements. Nemfakos served in the government for 35 years. Nemfakos will be responsible for the overall development and coordination of the elements contained in the NE&SS strategic plan in his new position.

The Board of Directors of the National Veterans Business Development Corporation, in Washington, D.C., announced that retired Army Maj. Gen. Charles R. Henry has become the company's president and CEO. He was formerly the head of the Defense Contract Management Command, which consolidated the contract management activities of the four branches of the military and streamlined procurement procedures.
